In response to the global financial tsunami, the Chief Executive announced in his 2008-09 Policy Address that he would “establish and chair a task force to continually monitor and assess the impact of the financial tsunami on local and global markets, and provide timely evaluation of its impact on the local economy and our major industries during this trying period. More importantly, the task force will propose specific options for the Government and business community to address the challenges. This will help us overcome the crisis, turn it into new business opportunities and enhance our competitiveness.”
Chaired by the Chief Executive, the Task Force on Economic Challenges held its last meeting on 22 June 2009. The Task Force has completed its work, and this website will not be updated. The information on this website is maintained for archive purpose. |
