Putting our heads together for building a better Hong Kong

I am pleased to attach my latest blog for your perusal (http://www.fso.gov.hk/chi/blog/blog120317.htm). Last week, I attended forums organized by the Hong Kong Coalition of Professional Services and the Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups, and had good discussions with the professionals and students on initiatives put forward in the Budget. I am glad to note that my proposal of establishing a tax policy unit is welcomed by the professional sector. The priority of the tax policy unit is to study tax measures from a macro perspective that can help foster development of new industries and ensure that Hong Kong maintains its competitiveness. I am also glad to see that the younger generation cares about different social issues and the future of Hong Kong. Further development of the innovation and technology industry as well as the creative industries can help boost our economic growth and create more quality jobs for the young people.
