Hong Kong Wine and Dine Festival 2017

A gist of the blog:

I believe that many Hong Kong people, just like me, attended the two mega events about fine wine recently – the Hong Kong Tourism Board’s Hong Kong Wine and Dine Festival 2017 and the 3-day Hong Kong International Wine and Spirits Fair 2017, concluded just last week, organized by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council.

With a series of supporting measures launched in recent years, including tax incentive, trade facilitation, quality certification to cultural promotion, Hong Kong has already become the most important wine trading and distribution hub in Asia, as well as a prominent wine auction centre in the world. Last year, our total wine import has surged 12% year on year to a record $12 billion, triple that of 2008. Meanwhile, the Government has also launched various measures to facilitate the trading of wine in Hong Kong. For instance, the Customs Facilitation Arrangement designated for wine imported to the Mainland of China through Hong Kong has been extended to all 42 Customs Districts in the Mainland. Wine traders will benefit from more speedy, safe and satisfactory customs clearance when re-exporting through Hong Kong, further strengthening Hong Kong's unique position as Asia's wine hub.
